Crass European tour plan, March 1980

This 1980 letter by the band Crass to tour organiser Henno Eggenkamp in Amsterdam was published recently in the book Bullshit Crass, aka Crass – A pictorial history about the history of Crass.

The letter is about the plan to tour in Germany and the Netherlands, together with Poison Girls, Annie Anxiety, and Seaman Stockton.

Some things went according to this plan. Some didn´t.

The actual tour dates as they happened are here.

Concerts in Hamburg and Berlin were canceled because of double booking, as Crass told me then. A concert in Düsseldorf on 26 March was added.

Crass’ letter mentions Monday 24 March Leiden – Tollenaere.

It turned out that Herman de Tollenaere, Cheap ‘n’ Nasty singer, could not organise a Crass concert on 24 March. The big LVC venue in Leiden was still economical with punk. Like in 1978, when they had rejected a proposal by Herman to have a concert by Crass and Ivy Green.

However, it turned out to be possible to have a concert in Voorschoten village near Leiden on Tuesday 25 March, by Crass, Poison Girls, Cheap ‘n’ Nasty and others.
