Captain Sensible and Cheap ‘n’ Nasty

This Kodak Instamatic photo is from when Captain Sensible stayed in Leiden. The Captain did not only play bass and guitar in The Damned. Once he was also Cheap ‘n’ Nasty drummer.

This is how that happened: Cheap ‘n’ Nasty had a gig opening for Poison Girls in Het Paard van Troje in The Hague. But our drummer boy Maarten had disappeared miraculously. And the flu virus had a troublesome habit of infecting our drummer girl Ria one day before concerts: also this time.

Then, Cheap ‘n’ Nasty half of lead vocals/toy saxophone Herman played their recent  Covergirl EP to the Captain. And so, the Damned guitarist became Cheap ‘n’ Nasty drummer for that The Hague concert.
